Borrowing Policy and Procedures of the Livingston Masonic Library
Books are available for on-site research and reading by all Masonic and non-Masonic patrons at the Library’s Manhattan branch.
Books are lent only to Masons who are members in good standing of a lodge under the jurisdiction of the Grand Lodge F&AM of the State of New York. Members wishing to borrow may email the Library with the following information:
- Grand Lodge Number
- Lodge Name and Number
- Mailing Address
- Home Telephone Number
- Email Address
- Call Number Or Title Of The Book You Wish To Borrow
You may also contact the Library by telephone at 1-212-337-6620, or within New York State at 1-800-362-7664, ext. 620.
The Library will confirm your membership in good standing, and mail the book to you.
The Library’s Circulating Collection includes books published after 1920. The Library lends books only when it has more than one copy of a particular edition. A research or shelf copy is always available on-site at the Library’s Manhattan branch.
Books are lent for a period of three weeks. Borrowers may renew by email or telephone. Borrowers are responsible for replacing books lost or damaged when signed out to them. Books may be returned to the Library by using the return-mail address label included with borrowed books. Library-rate return postage is the only cost involved in borrowing.
